Delete Your Retaz Account
You can delete your Retaz account and all data associated with it at any time, except from November 17, 2026 at 00:00 US Eastern Time until the final La Chispa tally has been captured, normally a few minutes later. There are two ways to do it: from inside the app, or by email if you no longer have the app.
From the app (instant)
- Open Retaz and go to Settings.
- Tap Account.
- Tap Delete account and confirm.
Deletion from the app is immediate and permanent. There is no recovery window: once you confirm, your account and data are gone.
By email (no app needed)
Email [email protected] with the subject "Delete my account", from the email address you use to sign in to Retaz (your Apple or Google sign-in address). We use the matching address to confirm the request is really yours, then delete the account. Email deletions are completed within 30 days of your request.
What is deleted
Your account and everything tied to it: your email address, display name, country, language preferences, birth year, playlists, comments, votes, saves, follows (once following is available in the app), blocks, and reports you filed.
What we may retain, and why
- Records we are legally required to keep, such as tax, accounting, or legal-process records, kept only as long as the law requires.
- Records needed to resolve an active dispute or enforce our terms, kept only until the matter is closed.
- Safety material we are required by law to preserve (for example, material subject to a mandatory child-safety preservation duty).
Everything retained under these carve-outs is held under restricted access and deleted when the legal requirement ends.
Before you go
You can download a copy of your data first, from inside the app: Settings > Account > Export my data. Deletion cannot be undone, so export first if you want to keep anything.
If you bought a membership through the App Store or Google Play, cancel it in your store account first. Deleting your Retaz account does not stop the store from billing you. See Terms of Use, Section 2, for how.
Waitlist emails
If you only joined the retaz.fm waitlist and never had an app account, email [email protected] and we will remove your entry.
